Throughout 2019, Stepping Stones employees, clients and friends will place "kindness rocks" all around town in celebration of our fiftieth anniversary. In our agency's case, we'll be placing kindness STONES, not rocks!
Keep an eye out for our maroon or blue painted stones with positive messages designed to bring encouragement, hope or a smile. In addition to honoring our fifty years and raising awareness about mental illness, the agency's stones will be a part of "The Kindness Rocks Project TM" (https://www.thekindnessrocksproject.com/), "based on the profound truth that one message at the right moment can change someone's day, their outlook, and, indeed, their whole life." Since we're all about improving lives one step at a time, we know these stones will turn up just when you need them, with a timely message.
How did this project come about? Sue Schroeder, our CEO, is part of "The Kindness Rocks Project."
How do you know the rock you find is from Stepping Stones? Flip it over and look for the hashtag! We've marked our stones with #steppingstones50th.
What should you do if you find a stone from Stepping Stones? The first thing you should do is decide if you are going to "take one when you need one; share with a friend who needs some inspiration; or, leave one for another." The second thing to do is let us know you found the stone! We'd like to include location, photos and stories on our webpage and on social media. Finally, we'd love for you to post your findings on your favorite social media channel, including the hashtag #steppingstones50th.
If you'd like to leave the stone for someone else to find, please leave the stone where you found it. You are welcome to move the stone to another location. All we ask is that you be kind.
To alert us that you've located a stone, post on our Facebook page, to our website or via email. The locations will be tracked on our website.
